BSJ Camogie u.14 reached Feile Final last Sunday 23rd , went down to well drilled St. Vincents team. BSJ camogie team showed a great fighting spirit to the end of the game. Saturday Group games were hosted Erins Isle, who were very warm and welcoming hosts of the Feile in their Centenary year. Draw with Erins Isle in the opening game with some great displays by Leyla Hebe, Holly Doyle, Fiona Allen and Lisa Webster. Followed by win over Fingallians, some excellent team play Niamh Morris, Catherine Fenton, Cora McCarthy, Sophie Darcy and Anna Waters. Final group stage was against Faughs, excellent team performance Fiona O Reagan, Hannah Whyte, Holly Doyle, Eimear Fitzgerald and Jane Merriman.
Semi Final was against the team that topped the other group, St. Finians of Swords. Ellie Doran, Rebekah Fitzpatrick, Saoirse Kavanagh and Libby Dillon having excellent games , but Goalkeeper Maia Hynan ensured that BSJ went through to the final against St. Vincents with some excellent saves.
Final in O Toole Park, was tough affair, St. Vincents had come well prepared and homework done on the BSJ team. Some early points by Ellie Doran and Rebekah Fitzpatrick. Fiona O Reagan kept the taking the fight to St. Vincents, Aisling McDonnell who player of the match played with great heart and endeavour. Mentors Sue McDonnell , Anna Miles, Jim Hynan, Kevin Dàrcy and John McGrath were very proud of their spirit and effort that BSJ Camogie team put in over the two days. Overwhelmed by the big support for the team on Sunday.
