The role of the Club Children’s Officer in Ballinteer St. Johns club is to establish a child and youth centred ethos in the club and is a link between children/young people or their parents and the Club.

The CCO should as far as possible ensure that all players, coaches/team mentors, Parents/Guardians, Officials and spectators adhere to the GAA Code of Best Practice for Youth Sport and Code of Behaviour.  The CCO should organise Child Protection Awareness programmes within the club and other appropriate training in consultation with the Club’s designated Person (two courses were run to date on the 9th of September and Oct. 20th 2016 – A further course will be run after Christmas).  The CCO should distribute Copies of the GAA Code of Behaviour to mentors at the start of the season.  The CCO should assist the Club investigating breaches of the code within the club.
