Our 3 Adult Hurling Teams made the trip back across the Liffey with points in the bag

On Wednesday night our senior Hurlers traveled over to Ballymun to face Setanta. We had beaten Setanta in the championship already this year, but travelling over there is a tough place to go as our hurlers knew having lost there last year.

The first half was a tight affair with both teams matching score for score. In the second half the fitness and fresh legs on the bench was the key for Johns to unlock the Setanta defense. Goals from Tom Ahern, Barry Mannion and two from Danny McCarthy secured the victory for BSJ and they stay top of the league.

Final Score: BALLINTEER ST JOHNS 4-16 SETANTA 0-14

On a beautiful Tuesday evening our Junior hurlers made the long journey over to Skerries. Travelling such a long distance midweek for a match is never easy but our men flew out of the blocks, controlling the game and tagging on some lovely scores. Darren Hudson scored a beautiful goal burning the full back for pace before lobbing the ball over the on rushing keeper. The second half was a test for Ballinteer as Skerries tagged on a number of long range frees, but from open play our full pack line of Oisin Chamber, Enda Larkin and Stephen Mulvany dominated the opposition. Skerries got a consolation goal with the last puck of the game from a 20yard free.

Johns remain 2nd in league and in a strong position going into the busy summer schedule.

Final Score: BALLINTEER ST JOHNS 1-15 SKERRIES HARPS 1-11

On Thursday night to wrap up the week our 3rd adult team made it back to back victories by beating Sylvester’s over in Broomfield. The win made it 4 wins from 5 games and the lads continue to be in the hunt for promotion.

Final Score: BALLINTEER ST JOHNS 0-16 ST SYLVESTERS 2-5
