Third Camogie Team Win Inaugural Game

Our new third Adult Camogie team played their 1st league game on Tuesday night. Game was played in the Phoneix Park against Na Gaeil Ogra. First half was tight affair some excellent displays from Ciara McCarthy, Louise O Mahony and fine saves by Ruby Collins in goals kept Gaeil Ogra  at bay, with Lucy Ni Challanain and Hannah O Shea making surging runs from the middle of the pitch. They  finally paid off,  with Captain Fiona O Donoghue scoring, followed up by Megan Broe and well supported by Ciara Manley.

Second half the forwards dominated the early part of the 2nd half and Ballinteer St Johns added to their two goal lead from half time,  thanks to great work by Fern Finnucane and Andreas Maxim.  Near the end of the game Na Ogra Gaeil came back into the game – sterling work by Asiling Hayden and Robyn Kenneally kept scores to a minimum. With Cliodhna Ni Rian particular always bringing  the ball from defence into attack ensured Johns stayed on top. Final Score Ballinteer St Johns 4-1 Na Gaeil Ogra 1-2.

Next game next Tuesday 11th versus St. Annes in Marlay.
