Our adult footballers had a great just gone with some fine performances resulting in two wins and a draw.
The actions started in Swords on Saturday evening with the Seniors taking on Fingallians in an AFL2 match. Some great football played in the first ten minutes and 4 superb points was all undone, when Fins were awarded a penalty which they duely converted bringing the sides level. A quick point in response had Ballinteer back in front but Fingallians buried another ball in the net to give then a 2-01 to 0-05 lead 20 minutes in. Both teams traded scores before the break and Fins lead 2-02 to 0-06 at half time. Aodhan Clabby and Fearghal Duffy the pick on the bunch with 2 points a piece in the first half. Ballinteer then took the game to Fingallians in the second half and a goal from Pauric O’Connor in the 37th minute put them in the driving seat and they never looked back from there. The game ended 1-16 to 3-06.
The Junior A’s took on Innisfails on Sunday morning on a tight pitch in Balgriffin. They had a seriously hard fight on their hands against ‘Fails but managed to grind out a draw with 0-08 each with Aidan Field knocking over 4.
The Junior B’s made very light work of Ballyfermot at the same time in Marlay Park. They ran out 3-16 to 0-03 winners to kick start their Division 7 campaign.
