Adult Fixtures for Week 09/08/2010

There are plenty of Adult Football fixtures this week in the club to keep everyone entertained and out in the sunshine.

Our Senior Team have two crucially important matches this week against St. Pat’s of Palmerstown and St. Brigid’s. Alan Byrne and co. need points to avoid a relegation playoff and will be looking at St. Pats on Wednesday in the park as a must win game. They game throws in at 7:15 in Marlay Park and all support is needed to help the lads over the line. Their attentions then turn to Russell Park on Saturday where they take on the high flying St. Brigid’s A team who are yet to drop points this year. They play Brigid’s on Saturday at 6pm. All Suporrt is needed for both matches for what is a massive week for our Senior Football Team.

Our Junior A team are also in action twice this week in the league and are looking to keep there recent good form going. They have won four of their last five games and were cruely beaten by a last minute penalty last time out against Ballyboden. This week they take on St. Oliver Plunketts on Tuesday night in the park. They will be looking for retribution as they were knocked out of the championship by the Northsiders. This match takes place on Tuesday night in the Park at 7:15. After Tuesday night there is a quick turnaround to their next match which is on Friday night against Good Counsel in Galtymore Road at 7:15.

Our Junior B team have two matches this week also and take on Ballyboden in their first match of the week on Tuesday in Pairc Ui Murchu. The Ballyboden team are currently in the promotion playoff positions and are looking to keep that going but Jim McCormack’s troops will not let them away with an easy victory. They also take on Erin Go Breagh on Sunday morning at 10:30 in Marlay. Both teams are on equal points in the table and it should be an interesting encounter.

And finally, our Junior C team’s season draws to a close this week with a match against Croi Ro Noafa in Loretto on Thursday evening. They have had an up and down season and the lads will want to finish the season on a high with a victory against Noafa, who are a couple of points ahead of them in the table. The match is in Loretto on Thursday evening at 7:15.

All support is much appreciated for all these matches.
