Community Stewards for Marlay Park concerts

Ballinteer St Johns GAA Club is working again with Festival Republic (promoters of Longitude event) and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council to provide community stewards for three days of the Longitude event on 5th to 7th July 2019. By volunteering to steward in the local community, you will help your community, concert goers and your club. We need club members and families over 18 years of age, including parents and grandparents to volunteer for shifts over the three days of Longitude. You can choose between full day shifts (12 hours), half day shifts (6 hours) and short shifts (4 hours) depending on your availability. Choose the time of day and area that best suits you, and let us know which club team you or your family is supporting.

We have limited slots available for people over 18 years old from outside the BSJ family. If you or your immediate family is not a club member, you will need to get a club member to vouch for your attendance. Please provide the email address of that club member so we can verify your attendance with them.

Concert Stewarding 2019

Restricted Parking Sat 23rd June

Please note that there will be restricted parking in the club car park Saturday 23rd June from 8am to 6pm. The only parking available will be from the gate back to the main road. The restriction is required to facilitate the setup of the Nursery Summer Festival. Thank you for your consideration.

Nursery Santa Party Raffle Winners

Yesterday was a big day for the children, parents and mentors of the nursery. Santa arrived to Ballinteer St Johns. Over the course of the morning about 400 children visited Santa’s Grotto. After their visit it was up to the function room for some fun and games, face painting, tea/coffee and snacks (thanks to all the parents who brought loads of cakes, buns etc). We want to thank all the volunteers who gave their time on Friday to setup the two grottos and then on Saturday to help with the smooth running of the event. We finished off with the customary raffle. The luck winners were:

Volunteers Needed May Festival Sat 29th April

The annual May Festival is on Saturday 29th April from 1-30pm to 5-00pm in Marley Park and the club car park. The event is for the U6 to U12 kids. We need volunteers from across the club, teams, mentors and parents to help us on the day. What we are looking for is the following:
  • We have coordinators assigned to each event in Marley Park. We need volunteers to assist them with the kids through each event.
  • In the car park we have an overall coordinator again it is to assist that person through the afternoon.
  • We have two adults assigned to take the money for the burgers. We need to give them a rest at some stage, would be great to get a couple of volunteers for this.
  • Selling tickets for the raffle, helping with the tea/coffee and soft drinks stall.
Note you don’t have to cover the full 4 hours of the event. If we got an hour from a number of people that would be great. It means we can rotate people and give helpers a break.
