Ballinteer Ladies slip up against Clann Mhuire

The Ladies footballers were up against Clann Mhuire in the second round of the League last Wednesday. Having secured two wins against their opposition last season, the Johns girls were aiming to come away with the same result. Playing with the wind in the first half, Clann Mhuire got off to the better start, opening up an 8 point lead going into half time.

Clann Mhuire were awarded two penalties, one in each half, and they began to look like pulling away. However Johns rallied and started to pile the pressure on in the second half. The weather took a turn for the worse and the slippery conditions made it tough to close the gap between the two. Despite some good team scores, Johns couldn’t peg back the deficit and the game finished 4-11 to 2-9 to Clann Mhuire.

Next up for the girls is an away game to Clontarf on Wednesday, 6th May. Throw in is at 7:30.
