Gráinne Larkin did Ballinteer proud on Sunday when she won the Leinster Final of Scór na nÓg in Ballymore, Co Westmeath. Gráinne represented Dublin in the Amhránaíocht Aonair category with a moving rendition of Eanach Cuain. Gráinne progresses to the last four, the All Ireland Final of Scór na nÓg, in Castlebar on the 19th February, representing Ballinteer St Johns, Dublin and Leinster. A delighted Dublin County Scór Secretary, Barbara Uí Néill, said afterwards "this is the first time in 20 years that Dublin has made it through to the All Ireland Finals of Scór na nÓg. Go n-éirí an t-ádh le Gráinne."
Pictured with Gráinne in Ballymore, Westmeath, is Aodán Ó Lorcáin – Language and Culture Officer of Ballinteer St Johns ( and Gráinne’s very proud Dad ).
Our Set Dancers performed brilliantly, under the direction of Philip Denmead and with the wonderful accompaniment of Fionn Morrison and Philip Denmead Jnr., but lost out to Longford on the night who also beat the much fancied team from Na Dúnta, Co Westmeath. Comhghairdeachas, a chailíní, agus go raibh míle maith agaibh as ucht bhur sár iarracht so chomórtas.
