With Three Rock Mountain blanketed in white stuff our visitors from sea-level feared they would be playing this match above the snowline as they made their way to Ballinteer on Sunday morning.
They found the AWP very much to their liking however and settled well. With a sure first touch and, demonstrating good teamwork and understanding, they took their points while our lads passed up the opportunities that came their way, preferring instead to seek to engineer an early goal.
The Syls keeper could justifiably be awarded the “man of the match” accolade as he pulled off 3 or 4 excellent saves, most notably late in the second half when a goal would have put BSJ 2 points clear with only minutes to go. Unfortunately for Johns, it was not be and despite dominating the match for lengthy periods without return where it matters most – on the scoreboard – the match finished BSJ 0-9 0-13 Syls.
