This weekend sees the long awaited return of adult football action with all four of our adult teams in cup action on Sunday.
Our Senior footballers have entered the St Vincent De Paul Cup this year, which will give them a much tougher start than usual after been drawn in a group with three Division 1 sides; Templeogue, Ballyboden and Thomas Davis. On Sunday morning they kick it off against Templeogue in Dolphin Park, where the will be hoping to start their season off in the best possible way. Templeogue, however, will be a tough test having held their own in Division 1 last year against the heavyweights of Dublin football. The game throws in at 10:30am.
Our Junior A’s start their cup campaign directly after our Senior team in Dolphin Park at 12pm, when they also take on Templeougue in their first cup game of the Conlon Cup. Having also received a tough group draw with Templeogue, Na Fianna, Thomas Davis, Ballyboden and Kilmacud all in their group, Ballinteer will be looking to get maximum points here to get off to a flying start.
The Junior B’s enter this years Parson Cup and take on St Annes in Marley Park at 12pm in their first outing. This year they will have seven cup games in the group stage going all the way through to June so hopefully they will hit the ground running.
Later on at 3pm in Marley Park, the Junior C team take on Thomas Davis in their first game of the O Broin Cup.
Our Minor footballers are also in action on Sunday, as their league campaign’s get underway. The A’s take on Thomas Davis in Marley at 11am, while the B’s take on Clontarf in St. Annes Park, also at 11am.
