Dublin Minor’s beaten in Semi Final

Ballinteer St Johns Minor Hurlers Aodhan Clabby and Glenn Whelan suffered heartbreak last week after coming so close to an All Ireland Final. Dublin were beaten by one point in a nail biting finish in Croke Park against Clare. Having been 6 points down, two second half goals helped them battle their way back to within a point but just couldn’t find that all important last score.

The year was still a massive positive for Dublin and for Aodhan and Glenn who were integral parts of the panel. The year could of started off better after been beaten by Kilkenny in the first round of matches in the Leinster Championship but 1 point victories over Louth and Wexford meant the lads would have another crack at Kilkenny in the Leinster Final but again Kilkenny proved to be too strong for the Dubs. The lads bounced back however with a comprehensive win over Antrim in the All Ireland Quarter Final and then suffered that narrow defeat to Clare in the Semi-Final.

Congratulations to Aodhan and Glenn on a very successful season with the Dubs and hopefully they will have many more years in the Dublin jersey
