Junior A and B Footballers Both Qualify for Championship Semi-Final

On Tuesday evening both our Junior football teams played in the Quarter Final of their respective championships and both had tremendous wins against Whitehall and Lucan.

The Junior A’s took on Whitehall in Marley Park and had a great first half putting good moves together, and leading by 7 points at half time including a well taken goal by Brian McCaffery.

Both teams then went point for point at the start of the second half with Whitehall having most of the possession until the conclusion. The lads held out well though, including 7 mins of injury time, with the performance in the first half and crucial scores & good defending in the second getting them over the line by two points.

Everyone worked hard with Enda Larkin, Shane Holland & Sean Smith setting up attacks from the back & Ciaran Clarke, Ronan Clabby, Paul Farrell, Sean Reilly & David Quinn getting some great scores.

The Junior B’s played Lucan in Lucan and had a very hard task ahead of them with Lucan not losing a game all year. The first half was very even and the teams were level at four points a piece at half time.

An goal early in the second half from DJ Corbett help Ballinteer settle in the second half but Lucan replied with a goal of their own. But with eight minutes to go, Cian Duffy buried a ball in the back of the net and but five points between the teams. Lucan tried everything to get back in but the lads held out for a two point win.
