12 June 2011
A busy day for our camogie teams! It started in rainy Marlay Park with the U10s hosting Bray and Commercials in a blitz. Fiirst up was Commercials and the girls had a big win. Then as usual we had a really tight game with Bray. Nobody managed to get the decisive score and it finished level. It was really tough conditions but as allows the girls gave it their all.
The U11s then travelled to an Lucan where the conditions were even worse. Team of the day was definitely the blue team who managed a great 2 all draw against a really strong Lucan team. Despite going 2 nil down early on, the girls fought all the way to the end and got what they deserved with 2 late goals! The equaliser  from Caoilinn cheered up all the wet and cold St Johns supoporters!!
The red had a tough afternoon against a very good team. The first half against the wind and rain left the girls 5 goals down. But great credit to everyone for the second half performance. A great goal from Sarah and a brilliant point from Emma topped off a fine second half display.
Skerries are up next Sunday in Marlay.
15 May 2011
The U11s played a friendly in Marlay Park against Naomh Olaf.
It was a great chance for some of the newer girls and everyone gave it there all. Olafs pushed us all the way but we managed a narrow win. Well done to all.
8 May 2011
A very busy day for the girls on Sunday. It started in Bohernabreena where St Annes hosted a blitz. The girls started really well with a big win despite Sarah and Kate from the U11s giving St Annes a hand, Next came Bray where we were narrowly beaten and then came Naomh Olaf and the girls finished with a great win.
On to Marlay Park then (with the help of 4 of the U10s!), the U11s took on Raheny. In a superb game the red team narrowly beat the visitors 3 goals to 2 goals and 1 point. It was close all the way through but the girls never stopped working and really enjoyed their win.
It was a long day at the office for the blue team who were defeated by Raheny. Lots of new players and some great performances and the girls are improving all the time.
Well done to all the girls.
17 April 2011
Another great morning for the U10s with 3 wins from 3. We started with a closely fought game against St Annes taking an early lead only for Annes to draw level. But the girls hurled really well in the second half and we pulled through 2-1. The girls hurled very well in their next game against Naomh Olaf getting early goals to lead throughout. The final game against Bray was a real battle. We took an early lead only for Bray to get a score back from a free. But the girls determination to win was fantastic and the pressure paid off with a late goal to win the game. Well done again to all the girls!!
10 April 2011
Though it ended in two defeats, we are all very pleased with how Sunday morning went as the girls performed really well against very strong Good Council sides.
The ‘blue’ team deserve particular mention. Máire, Paul, Angela and Tom were all delighted with the effort the girls put in and the improvement the girls are showing with every week is great to see. A special well done to the girls who were playing only theeir first or second games!
The ‘red’ team faced a very good side and performed well with only one score in it at half time. Well done to all the girls who gave 100% in really warm conditions.
It was a great morning on a glorious Sunday in Marlay Park and we are all looking forward to our next game on May 8 versus Raheny.
We also took a team photo which I will put up in our gallery soon!
Focus now turns to the U10s who have their 3rd blitz in Bray Emmets next Sunday and will be trying to keep their unbeaten run going!
Best of luck girls!!
3 April 2011
Naomh Olaf hosted the U10 blitz this morning and it was another successful day for our girls.
We had a very competitive 2 all draw with Bray Emmets and wins against Naomh Olaf and St Annes.
There was some excellent performances and a couple of our newer girls made their debut!
It’s been a great start to this years games for the U10s with numbers increasing all the time.
Training will move to Marlay Park  this Wednesday at 6.45 and the next blitz will be hosted by Bray Emmets on April 17.
28 March 2011
Well done to all the girls who played in the first league game of 2011.
We were delighted to have our new jerseys for this game and a BIG thanks to Bill Hayden (Muireanns dad!) for the sponsorship from Nutgrove Veterinary Clinic! We are all delighted to have our own set of club jerseys and the girls looked great
On the pitch, the practice we are putting in is starting to really pay off. One of our teams had a very good competitive game which we ended up drawing 2 all. There were some excellent performances all over the pitch. The other team showed great determination against a very strong Na Fianna side. Well done to all the girls. In particular, the improvements being made by the girls who have joined in the last year has been great to see and also the number of girls lifting and striking in the air is increasing with every week!
Best of luck to the U10s who have another Blitz next Sunday (3 April) in Naomh Olaf
22 March 2011
The U11 ‘Go Games’ league starts on Sunday March 27th. We are in the 2 team division which is sure to be very competitive.
Our first game is in Mobhi Road in Glasnevin against Na Fianna,
We have peformed very well in all the blitzes so far this year and the improvement in our skills has been fantastic.
The U10s started their year with a friendly game against Naomh Olaf on the AWP which they won. They followed this up by
going unbeaten in their first blitz which we hosted on March 20th against Bray Emmets, St Annes and Naomh Olaf again.
We are looking forward to the next blitz which Naomh Olaf are hosting on Sunday April 3 at 10am.
