The BSJ Minor Hurlers got their Championship campaign off to a flying start in Marlay Park on Sunday with a convincing win over Craobh Chiaráin by 1-17 to 0-4.
The sun shone brightly and a gentle breeze favoured the home side in the first half as the Ballinteer lads laid the foundations of their success with early points from frees converted by Dónal Gormley. The visitors were never allowed to settle and were well behind at the break.
When the goal went in early in the seconf half it was clear there was to be no way back for a brave Craobh Chiaráin side who never stopped playing but who were outclassed on the day.
Next up is Faughs who ran up a big score in their first outing and who will provide stiff opposition in what should be an epic encounter.
