Senior Camogie Team Reach the County Final

The Senior camogie team qualified for the championship final with an impressive win over Skerries this weekend.

The girls had all to play for when they took to the field on Sunday morning against old foes Skerries and they wasted no time in setting the tone of the match with some early scores. A goal by Grace O’ Shea after 10 minutes in settled the team and set them up well as they played against the wind in the first half. Scores from Fiona Hayes and Louise O’Shea followed and a 2nd goal before half time by Aoife Kelly meant the girls went into the break 2.5 to 0.3 up.
They showed no signs of slowing down in the second half. A relentless defensive display by the backs led by Jillian Pounch and some superb saves by Karen O’Donovan meant that Skerries were kept scoreless from play. Scores from Emma Lane and a final goal from Grace O’Shea finished off the game and the Ballinteer girls won out with the impressive scoreline of 3.09 to 0.5.
Next up is the county final! Scheduled for Sunday 25th October, time and venue TBC. Lets continue the fantastic support of our girls seen so far this year!
