Senior Football Championship kicks off this weekend

This week attention moves from league to championship for our Adult Football teams with all our teams in action over the weekend.

Our Senior Footballers are first in action on Saturday at 5:30pm when they take on Cuala in the Senior Football Championship. With four out of five games won in the league so far Ballinteer will be hoping to get off to as good a start in the Championship. The Dalkey men are currently one from five in their first year in Division 1 but will, no doubt, be focused on getting their season back on track with a Championship victory. The game takes place in O’Toole Park.

On Sunday morning our Junior A team take on St. Monicas in the first round of the Junior A Football Championship in Marley Park at 11am. After a good start to the league with three wins out of five in Division 5 Ballinteer will be hoping that their form transfers to the Championship. Monicas in Division 4 haven’t had the best of starts with only one point from a possible 10 but Championship is a completely different game altogether and they will be hoping to kick start their season with a victory.

At the same time in St. Catherines Park the Junior Bs take on Na Gaeil Oga. With seven points out of a possible ten in the league so far Ballinteer will look to overcome their gaeilgeoir opponents who have eight points from a possible twelve in the same league.

In the Iveagh Grounds at 3pm, our Junior C team take on St. James Gaels. Both teams have two wins and a draw so far in the league so it promises to be a very tight affair.
