Seniors continue their great form with hard fought win over Erins Isle

Our senior footballers had another fantastic win in the league on Wednesday night in Finglas when they took on Erins Isle.

The pitch was in immaculate condition and the sun was shining which made for a perfect day for football. Ballinteer got off to the best possible start and knocked over 6 unanswered points with 2 from Padraic O’Conchuir and Peter o’Curry and 1 from Fearghal Duffy and Paul Cronin. Isles hit back then with a fine individual point from Luke Sweetman and a goal from their centre forward to drag Isles back into the game. Isles could of taken the lead soon after, when they rattle the crossbar with another shot at goal as the half-time whistle blew with the score at 0-07 to 1-02.

At the start of the second half, both teams traded points and then Sam Tully slotted one over the bar to put Ballinteer 3 up. Isles fought back though and got it back to 1 point with about 10 minutes remaining. However, Padraic O’Concuir, Paul Cronin and Fearghal Duffy got a point each to help Ballinteer pull away and eventually win the match by 4 points.

Next up for the Seniors will be Templeogue on the 12th of June followed by Kilmacud on the 15th.
