Success for Seniors in Camogie C’Ship Final

Congratulations to our Senior Camogie team who came up trumps against Good Counsel at yesterday’s Senior B Championship Shield Final. The team lined out in windy conditions at Good Counsel’s home ground in Crumlin, with a good crowd of supporters backing the Ballinteer side.
St. John’s overcame the Crumlin side 7-13 to 0-3 at the final whistle. A solid performance from the Ballinteer girls saw them stretch ahead at early stages and lead 4-06 to 0-00 at half time, having played with the wind in their favour. Scores from the forwards and mid field players included;  Brenda Sorohon 2-04, Eilish McCarthy 1-02, Niamh McKennedy 1-02, Deirdre Kelleher 1-01, Fiona Hayes 1-04 and Brona Fagan 0-01.
Congratulations to all the team who put on a magnificent display for the duration of the match and a special mention to Fiona Hayes who received the Player of the Match award. Congratulations also to the team management;  Tom Hayes, Peter Canning and Eamonn McKeown.
