U8 to U13 football – weekend wrap up

Our Under 8s had a great start to the season with three teams at home and three teams away to Cuala. a strong showing with the boys putting skills learned in training into the games. A great backing up of each other demonstrated by lots of team worked goals and good teamwork in blanket defense which would make Donegal proud. The 2010 boys represented the club well with lots of scores and nil conceded roll on the next match.

Our two Under 10 teams played Ballyboden in Marley Park in our first Go Games of the year. The boys started out in impressive fashion with an excellent performances – winning comfortable. These games were followed by 2 more against crumlin. Performances were really good again making it a clean sweep in Marley Park. Well done to BSJ U10’s. They looked sharp and played well.

Part of the BSJ U11 boys group made the trip out to Tyrrelstown for a football match in lovely spring weather this Saturday. In the first half, the hosts were more clinical with their finishing and took a 4 point lead into the break. Tyrrrelstown stretched their lead with an early second half goal. BSJ really stepped up the pace at that point and dominated the remainder of the game showing great stamina, discipline and skill. The BSJ lads finished the game with 7 unanswered scores to seal a well deserved victory.

Hard luck today to our U13 team who had a narrow defeat in the end 3.6 to 3.9 against Marys. It was a very good team performance against a team that played 2 division’s above us last year – onwards and upwards!
