Our Under 21 football team celebrated advancing to the Semi-Final of the Dublin B Championship with a fine win over the much fancied St Brigids. On a wet, cold day there wasn’t much scoring done. Fearghal Duffy played an instrumental role in the game scoring 6 points, while Glenn Whelan and Dublin dual-star Donal Gormley chipped in with 2 and 1 points each.
The game finished 0-09 to 0-08. Ballinteer were four points clear at half-time thanks to a great display from Duffy and a magnificant penalty save from James Tunney, which kept Ballinteer in front. Brigids came back strong in the second half and had it to within a point three times but just couldn’t find that last point due to some brilliant defending.
They now take on Thomas Davis in the Semi-Final on Saturday the 8th of December.
