Vincents Prove too Strong for Senior Camogie Team

Senior camogie action got underway this week with the girls facing tough opposition away to St Vincent’s. The girls lost narrowly out in Marino last year so were hoping to make amends, but knew they would be up against tough opponents in last years championship runners up.

Despite a rushed start and delays in arriving for the early throw in, the girls started well with scores from Eleanor Ahearne and Fiona Hayes. However, Vincent’s proved the stronger side and soon began to pull away. Not even a change of pitch at half time to accommodate the failing light was enough to spark a comeback and the game finished 2.8 to 0.3 to Vincent’s.

Next Tuesday evening, 14th April has our Senior and Junior camogie teams in home action against Ballyboden and Na Gael Oga respectively. Throw in for both matches is 6.45pm and all support is welcome!
